JENNY LEWIS also playing TURF SUNDAY, JULY 6 is releasing her new solo recording The Voyager on July 29 on Warner Bros – It is produced by BECK and RYAN ADAMS.
THE WACO BROTHERS playing TURF FRIDAY, JULY 4 and SATURDAY, JULY 5, and BACKING JON LANGFORD’s BURLINGTON WELSH MEN’S CHOIR on SUNDAY, JULY 6 , and a post-festival public staff party at the HORSESHOE late on SUNDAY, JULY 6 is bringing fellow UK via CHICAGO the legendary MEKONS’ SALLY TIMMS – Sally and Jim Elkington may very well join JON-BOY on SUNDAY, JULY 6 @ 12:45PMon the East Stage for the WELSH CHOIR who are rumoured to not only be singing WELSH SEA SHANTY tunes but may in fact perform some MEKONS songs either then or through the weekend.

TURF is doing a general month out e-mail call for VOLUNTEERS including ARTIST CART DRIVERS, GUIDES, HOSPITALITY, STAGEHANDS, etc – There are more than 30 VOLUNTEER POSITIONS available and you can apply via the new VOLUNTEER tab – Please note all TURF volunteers not only do not have pay any fee’s but they get free a MASTER VIP PASS, meals, water, and breaks to watch their fave TURF artists.

This stage will have more traditional changeover breaks however two of the three stages will now be running at the same time giving everyone more musical choices throughout the weekend

Toronto Urban Roots Fest announces dates for 2014
Toronto Urban Roots Fest (TURF) will take place on Friday, July 4 to Sunday, July 6 at Garrison Commons outdoors at Historic Fort York in Downtown Toronto. The 2014 fest expands to THREE STAGES and now FORTY-FOUR artists. The 3-day lineup will be announced Friday, February 14th. The lineup by day and times will be announced in late March or early April.
The EAST and WEST stages will be scheduled with 10 minute breaks this year to make it easier to get food and bev in-between sets. The new SOUTH stage, which will be surrounded by amphitheatre-like grassy hills, will have longer changeover breaks. This year, two stages will now be running at the same time giving everyone musical choices throughout the weekend.
EARLYBIRD 3-day wristbands and EARLYBIRD 3 day VIP bracelets go on sale Thursday, February 27th at noon. If TURF does not sell out in advance, Single day concert tickets will go on sale in late March or early April.
